BERLIN, GERMANY

On Monday, youth living in Europe sprayed antifascist slogans on the DITIB mosques association in Berlin-Wedding on Soldiner Straße 72. The association, which is run by fascist Turks, is used as a secret hub for ultra-nationalist organizing, was marked with writings such as “We don’t want Turkish fascists in our neighborhoods.”

The DITIB is the extended arm of the Turkish religious authority Diyanet and one of the most powerful representatives of the AKP regime in Germany with almost 900 mosques. Their imams are trained in Turkey and paid to preach the Sunni-Hanefite Turkish state Islam in Germany. This is the Islamically legitimized view of the Autocratic Erdogan regime. DITIB, an organisation supported by the German government, operates in Europe as the mouthpiece of Erdogan’s jihadist neo-Ottoman ideology and uses their mosques to spread hate and violence. The federation supports not only the democracy and opinion-limiting politics, but also Turkey’s wars of aggression against the Kurdish people.

Several DITIB members are partly responsible for the espionage of critics and opponents of the Erdogan regime. In 2017 alone, 19 imams left Germany for Turkey because of espionage accusations after the proceedings against them were dropped. They are also part of Erdogan’s propaganda network. During the attacks on Efrîn in northern Syria, the Turkish government ordered that prayers be said in the DITIB mosques for the “victory of our soldiers”. Children appeared in military dresses and war propaganda events were organized.

Among others, the DITIB is also represented in the Central Council of Muslims, in which the Grey Wolves, the Muslim Brotherhood and members of the ATIB ( Union of Turkish-Islamic Cultural Associations in Europe) are also organized.

Erdogan’s jihadist attacks in Europe

Only recently, Europe was shaken by the cruel massacres in France and Austria, carried out by Islamists fueled by the Islamist-fascist agitation of the AKP-MHP regime led by Erdogan. Turkish fascists have recently been attacking leftist associations and Kurdish institutions in Europe/Germany. Only in June there was a four-day wave of attacks on Kurdish and leftist institutions in Vienna.

In addition, there had been a hunt for Armenians in Dijon and Lyon during the Artsakh-Azerbaijan/Turkey war. Despite spying on members of the opposition and openly carrying out war propaganda, DITIB continues to be supported by the federal government. Again, the German government does not refrain from expressing its approvall of fascism.
